Community Pavilion | Big Sky, MT

The town of Big Sky, MT has had extensive community growth in the last decade.  A large contributing factor to this growth is due to the Big Sky Community Corporation.  Their vision is “a community connected by world class recreation and enrichment opportunities that embrace a vibrant quality of life”.

We were honored to be chosen as the architects to design the Big Sky Pavilion located in the Big Sky Community Park.  They needed a structure to shelter people while watching softball games and to house a food vending area and bathrooms.  The project was put on a fast track for design and construction completion, which we succeeded on all fronts getting the pavilion finished in time for the next softball season.

Focusing on orientation and integration with site in respect to the softball fields was critical to how citizens could watch and interact with the softball games. The mono-slope roof opens up to both softball fields and creates an open space where people can mingle freely.  The integrated industrial steel and concrete give the structure a substantial feel while the cedar siding matches existing material in the park.

Centre Sky Architecture worked seamlessly with Langlas & Associates, local builders based in Bozeman, MT, to complete this project for the Big Sky community.
