GNL Construction Photos – Whitefish Montana Architect – Jamie Daugaard

GNL or Great Northern Lodge is one our Whitefish Montana Architect Jamie Daugaard’s ‘crown jewel’ as he likes to put it. This home is custom designed down to every light, door handle and has features that are beautiful to watch be formed into reality, such as the concrete dome that is going to be framed and poured. You can see in the construction photo gallery below the framing that has gone into this dome.

Why concrete you ask? Well, this home consists of basically all concrete walls and will most likely withstand any fire that comes its way, which is the intent!

Another amazing aspect to this home is how it reponds and emphasizes the site and beauty that was already present. There is a secret hallway through a bookcase door that the owner won’t even know how to open until it is complete. Once through this door you enter a hall that is as if you are in a cave because its walls are of a stone that was existing on the site! You can see in the construction photos how they start to tie structural steel elements to this stone to make this all possible!
