151 Construction Has Commenced!

Centre Sky Architecture’s newest custom home in Spanish Peaks Mountain Club in Big Sky, Montana just began excavation!  This mountain contemporary residence has 360 degree views which display Lone Mountain and Pioneer Mountain. Our clients, which we have designed for before, have been great to work with on this custom residence. We really enjoy having repeat customers as it only makes our communication and understanding with one another that much easier.

We blended modern materials such as exposed steel with more traditional materials like the timbers, wood siding, and stone. Large amounts of glazing blend the exterior with the interior, allowing for splendid views, and assist with solar passive heating.

The site drops away severely, which can be a challenge for building, but it also lent itself to incorporate unique design elements. There is a long steel viewing deck that takes you right over the steep drop off, and a walk out daylight basement that has expansive views. The clean, simplistic lines of the structure allow for the building to disappear into the landscape. And the mono-slope roofs gently reaching out beyond the structure act as an extension of the horizon.

Thank you for everyone’s efforts to get to this point.  The general contractor, Brian Scott with Lone Pine Builders, has been very hands on since being awarded the job and has put in a lot of work to begin this project.  Thank you for all of your hard work!
