151, a residential project in Spanish Peaks Mountain Club, Big Sky, MT began excavation a couple weeks ago. Brian Scott, general contractor, owner of Lone Pine Builders took this very cool drone video of the site during excavation. We have teamed up with Brian and his team on other projects of ours and appreciate the repertoire with have with Lone Pine Builders. The architect, Jamie Daugaard, the clients, the project manager, Casey Bennett, and Brian are all featured in the above photo at the site during excavation. What a great team!
The views from this site are absolutely stunning with Lone Mountain and Pioneer Mountain the main focal points. This video really captures the surrounding landscape of where the house will sit and what a spectacular area this is in the Rocky Mountain West.
The site drops away severely, which can be a challenge for building, but it also lent itself to incorporate unique design elements. There is a long steel viewing deck that takes you right over the steep drop off, and a walk out daylight basement that has expansive views. The clean, simplistic lines of the structure allow for the building to disappear into the landscape. And the mono-slope roofs gently reaching out beyond the structure are an extension of the horizon.
