Big Horn Condominium Renovation, Big Sky, Montana

The Big Horn Condominiums at the base of Big Sky Ski Resort are getting an extensive renovation! The 70 unit condominium complex is located with in walking distance to the base of Big Sky Ski Resort and all of it’s amenities.  The proposed plan is to replace the original siding along with adding new exterior light fixtures, porches, decks, and entry doors.

Centre Sky Architecture went with a “Village Concept” which meant creating different derivatives of two core designs. Both core concepts utilize new wood made to look rustic or old.  One concept uses a vertical grey wood and the other uses a brown wood.  The derivatives of these mix in different amounts of corrugated metal siding in different locations on the units.

The Village Concept gives the Big Horn Condos some variation in design compared to the monotone beige siding that currently exists on it.  It gives the Big Horn community diversity among units along with uniformity. These condos are also one of the first impressions visitors get upon approaching Big Sky Resort. We at Centre Sky feel this first impression is important and we are very excited to be on this project.
