Cascade, Big Sky, Montana

Centre Sky Architecture was selected to do an extensive remodel and addition to an existing home in the Cascade neighborhood of Big Sky, Montana. The renovation focused on increasing view corridors and re-programming the interior layout to better accommodate guests and family.

The footprint of the home was positioned to have views of Fan and Lone Mountain, but the windows from the Great Room cut off the views to those mountains. To increase this visibility we re-positioned the window composition to allow for direct views of the Spanish Peaks.

As the owner’s of this home family grew in size the layout of the home no longer accommodated large family gatherings and visiting guests. Guest rooms were added, the formal entrance was reworked to minimize congestion, and the master bedroom wing was modified for more privacy. Now with more privacy for guests and family the Great Room and Kitchen became the main gathering areas. We expanded this area and created an open floor plan from Great Room to Kitchen to Dining.
