Big Sky Montana Architect Jamie Daugaard teaches Elementary school

Big Sky Montana architect and local of 9-10 years Jamie Daugaard, the principal architect of Centre Sky Architecture taught 4th grade students at Ophir Elementary School in Big Sky this last week.

The main lesson was for the students to learn about basic geometric shapes and being able to apply them to architecture. they ended the lesson with building 3D physical models of their own. They were able to imagine up their own building and even their own site in which they built out of cardboard and construction paper.

You can see in the photos below it was a blast and the kids may have gone away with a future in architecture! Some of the models in the picture below sure show how much a 4th grader’s imagination really comes up with some new innovation designs!
