Centre Sky Architecture designed an extensive remodel and addition to a home located in the Sweetgrass Hills subdivision of Big Sky, MT. The home is perched on a hillside overlooking the Town Center of Big Sky along with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. One of the goals of the remodel was to frame these views from the Great Room and Kitchen, which are the main gathering spaces. Using Dynamic steel windows we were able to create a minimalist profile allowing for unobstructed views.
The exterior siding and interior ceilings are clad in a beautifully stained spruce wood by Vintage Woods. Vintage Woods manipulates new wood to look old, producing a really elegant look that can be very rustic or a clean modern look, as seen in this project. Along with the vertical wood siding the chimney stack is clad in metal panels, the entrance piece is brick, and there are portions of siding that are corrugated metal. This mix of materials lent to a dynamic modern but rustic expression.
This project is slated to complete by the end of summer or early fall. Big Sky Build is the general contractor for this project and they have done an amazing job with the unique details and assuring that the materials are put together precisely to accomplish this clean look.
