YC31 Remodel – Big Sky Montana Architect – Centre Sky Architecture

YC Lot 31 is one of our current projects in the Yellowstone Club located in Big Sky Montana. Our goal in this project was to basically ‘re-skin’ the exterior to update the aesthetic and play off of the re-designed interior with very dark timber log beams that extend from interior to exterior. We have been working with John at Big Sky Build and with Clean Living Design Interiors to develop and collaborate on these studies.

The following before and after pictures really show how much a simple remodel of updating the siding can impact a design. We have decided to do a vertical gray wood siding with a beveled vertical board to be textured like shingles. The beveled wood will be darker and contrasting to the vertical board to help tie in the dark timbers that reveal what is going on inside.

Our accent material is going to be a metal panel, color is still to be defined. We are showing the metal to represent a copper tone in the rendering below. Our final move with this project was to show the garage doors to match the accent material which truly ties everything together with harmony.

Stay tuned for the other finished schematic rendering studies from Kelsey. We are now moving on to 2D architectural drawings to submit to the YC ARC (Yellowstone Club Architectural Review Committee) so we can get this remodel started!
